This is an epic animated short featuring animated versions of Tennis star John McEnroe, soccer legend Pele, Jonah Lomu and one of Basketball's all time greats Michael Jordan fighting a variety of monsters in a gladiator style arena. All sporting Legends, the style provides great atmosphere and the music fits the mood. Great all round watch and looking forward to future episodes.
With World Cup 2010 merely days away (yipee!) we thought it would be appropriate to highlight this animated promo featuring Zakumi, South Africa's World cup mascot. Enjoy!
This is a cool comical piece starring some familiar fictional characters singing their life woes. Animation is simple and effective and the voiceover delivery is well executed by Youtubes Bo Burnham. Some of the voices were reminiscent of a couple of Family Guy characters, but it still worked. Very amusing lyrics from each of the characters and a funny clip all round.
Jeffrey Thomas does some really great cartoon character art. In particular his twisted princess images showing popular goody goody female cartoons in an evil and twisted way are nicely done. Great work and worth a look.
After 10 years away the legendary Rat Bastard Comics returns, refreshed and ready for the digital age. Private Detective Roscoe Rat, one of the many results of a world where DNA experimentation is the norm is back and dealing with some less than reputable characters in Low Town, a down right dirty futuristic New Youuk!
Capturing all the great elements of classic graphic story telling Rat Bastard reflects on a distinctively cruel yet humours world. A lovable rouge, Roscoe is one of the good guys battling against the dark edges of a harsh world where his DNA alone puts him on the fringes of a judgemental society. About Rat Bastard Comics and the Animated Pilot 10 years ago Rat Bastard was picked up by Buena Vista and Ron Howard’s Imagine Television. All set for it’s own TV series off the back of the successful comic book series “Fix For A King” (created & produced by Cliff Galbraith and Tim Bird)a pilot was made through a collaboration of producer Ed Neumeier (Robocop) and Tony Krantz (now producer of “24” starring Kiefer Sutherland). Unfortunately for all of us hungry for great, gritty comics and animation, the pilot didn’t make it to the small screen. However, the revival is just beginning so watch this space!
